The movie is an adaptation of the best-selling teenage adventure book series by Anthony Horowitz. The story revolves around a 14 year old boy Alex Rider (Alex Pettyfer), who has been trained, though unwittingly by his uncle (Ewan McGregor) in all sorts of super-spy skills-scuba diving, martial rights etc. His uncle was not a banker, but an M16 British super spy and was killed on way back from his latest assignment. This discovery meant that life won't remain the same for Alex as he is forced into recruitment and allegiance to M16. His assignment is to uncover the covert mission of the Stormbreakers, high tech reality super computers that come loaded with deadly viruses. The main suspect is creator of the Stormbreaker, Darrius Sayle (Mickey Rourke) who protrays the villain. Using the high tech gadgets and gizmos reminiscient of the 007 franchise, Alex must exterminate his redoubtable foe and save England from his evil grip.
