Erin Grant (Demi Moore) is a single mother who has to be an exotic dancer to support her young daughter. She is in a constant custody battle with her scummy ex husband, Darrell Grant (Robert Patrick), so she is desperate. When she attracts the attention of Congressman David Dilbeck (Burt Reynolds), he, in disguise, attacks another spectator at the club she works at. One of her fans recognized the Congressman and tries to help Erin by blackmailing him. When he ends up dead, Erin finds out that she is in a dangerous situation. She, with the help of a friendly bouncer, Shad (Ving Rhames), have to hatch a plan to save her before she gets in over her head.
